5.1 Why Do Command Configurations Fail to Take Effect?
Run the system-view command to enter the system view and edit configurations in two-stage mode. After running a configuration command, you need to run the commit command to make the configuration take effect.
Run the system-view immediately command to enter the system view and edit configurations in immediate mode. After you run a configuration command and press Enter, the configuration immediately takes effect.
For V100R003C00 and later versions, if a user modified the configuration in the two-stage mode but did not commit the configuration, the system prompt changes from ~ to *, reminding the user that the configuration has not been committed. The system prompt will change back to ~ after the user runs the commit command. Configurations that are not committed will not be saved in the configuration file.
