Add Centrex Intra-Group Prefix (ADD ICXPFX)

Function

ADD ICXPFX is used to add an intra-Centrex prefix data record.

The intra-Centrex prefix is used to select an intra-group number analysis table. Run this command if you need to enable any of the following functions:

  • Centrex subscribers call each other by dialing short numbers.

  • Centrex subscribers access wide area Centrex (WAC).

  • Centrex subscribers use supplementary services.

  • Centrex subscribers dial emergency call prefixes.

Figure 1 shows the parameter reference relationships.

CGN

Centrex group name

This parameter specifies the name of the Centrex group that requires the configuration of intra-group call prefix. This parameter must be defined using ADD CXGRP before being used.

You can use either Centrex group name or Centrex group number as the key field to identify a Centrex group. Do not use both parameters. Otherwise, the UAC3000 reports an error.

CXG

Centrex group number

This parameter identifies the Centrex group that requires the configuration of intra-group call prefix. This parameter must be defined using ADD CXGRP before being used.

The value 65534 is a wildcard and can be used without being defined using ADD CXGRP.

Value range: 0-65534

CLRLP

Caller local DN set

This parameter specifies the local DN set to which the Centrex subscribers belong. It distinguishes the category of an intra-Centrex call when the local office has more than one area code.

When setting this parameter, note the following:

  • To configure Centrex subscribers who belong to different global DN sets, set this parameter to the wildcard 65534.
  • To specify a certain local DN set, this parameter must be defined using ADD LDNSET before being used.

Value range: 0-65534

PFX

Centrex call prefix

This parameter specifies the intra-group prefix of the Centrex. Set the intra-group prefix only in the following cases:

  • Defining the initial prefix for the Centrex short numbers: For example, if the short numbers of a Centrex group are designed as 2XXX, set the initial prefix of short numbers to 2.

  • Defining emergency call prefixes: To keep the special service numbers unchanged, define these prefixes as emergency call prefixes. In this case, Centrex subscribers need not dial the out-group prefix additionally before dialing the emergency service numbers.

  • Defining supplementary service prefixes: The UAC3000 has preset the prefixes of various supplementary services during initialization for all Centrex groups (indicated by the wildcard value 65534), but certain prefixes may not conform to the practices of the carriers. To simplify the prefix configuration, define certain supplementary service prefixes for a Centrex group, the priority of which is higher than that of the supplementary service prefixes of 65534.

  • Defining WAC access code: For the WAC functions that can be implemented through regular number change, define the initial prefix as the WAC access code. For example, a company registers the Centrex services in areas A and B, and the Centrex services in the two areas are provided by two offices separately. If the short numbers of area B are designed as 3XXX and the long numbers of area B are designed as 8783XXX. In this case, office A can set 3 as the WAC access code, and then converts 3XXX to 8783XXX to implement WAC functions.

When setting this parameter, note the following:

  • When you run this command to add an intra-Centrex prefix, the UAC3000 automatically modifies the intra-group digitmap of this Centrex group. This digitmap contains the digit collection mode mapping the Centrex prefix defined here. When a Centrex subscriber picks up the phone, the UAC3000 sends the intra-group digitmap to the subscriber-resident media gateway (MGW) through a control message. If the initial prefix dialed by the subscriber is not the out-group prefix, the MGW continues to collect digits in the mode defined by the intra-group digitmap until the requirement is met.
  • The asterisk (*) and the letter B (case-insensitive) in the Centrex call prefix represent the same content. The number sign (#) and the letter C (case-insensitive) in the Centrex call prefix represent the same content. For example, 999# and 999C cannot be used as the Centrex call prefixes at the same time, and 999* and 999B cannot be used as the Centrex call prefixes at the same time.

Service attribute

This parameter specifies the steps for the call processing software to analyze an intra-Centrex prefix.

When setting this parameter, note the following:

  • For an intra-group short number prefix, set this parameter to Intra-Centrex.

  • For a WAC access code of the WAC functions implemented through regular number change or number translation, set this parameter to Centrex WAN access code. If the WAC functions are implemented through regular number change, run ADD CXPFXPRO to specify the number change mode. The WAC functions implemented through both modes do not require the support of the intelligent network (IN) service platform. The UAC3000 maps and searches for the long and short numbers of WAC subscribers through number change and number translation.

  • For a supplementary service prefix, set this parameter based on actual conditions.

  • For an emergency call prefix, set this parameter to Out-group emergency call.

  • For a private branch exchange (PBX) group prefix, set this parameter to PBX Intra-Centrex.

    The UAC3000 has preset the prefixes of various supplementary services during initialization for all Centrex groups (indicated by the wildcard character 65534). The preset prefix table serves all Centrex groups with the lowest priority. In other words, during number analysis, the UAC3000 preferentially searches for a matched data record in the customized Centrex prefix table. If no matching item is found, the UAC3000 searches for a matched data record in the preset prefix table.

Minimum number length

This parameter specifies minimum length of the intra-Centrex called number that matches the call prefix.

When setting this parameter, note the following:
  • For an intra-group short number prefix, the minimum and maximum number lengths must be the same, ranging from one to eight digits.
  • For a supplementary service prefix, the maximum number length cannot exceed seven digits.

Local DN set

This parameter specifies the local DN set to which the call prefix (that is, the PBX group prefix) belongs. This parameter is valid only when Service attribute is set to PBX Intra-Centrex. This parameter must be defined using ADD LDNSET before being used.

PBXIN

PBX pilot number

This parameter specifies the PBX pilot number mapping the call prefix (that is, the PBX group prefix). This parameter is valid only when Service attribute is set to PBX Intra-Centrex. This parameter must be defined using ADD PBX before being used.

The basic procedure of a PBX group call is as follows:

  1. Assume that the source PBX can automatically insert an outgoing prefix for PBX group calls. When an extension of the source PBX calls an extension of the destination PBX, the source PBX sends "outgoing prefix of PBX group calls + destination PBX extension number" to the UAC3000 through the connected IAD.

  2. Upon receiving the called number sent by the source PBX, the UAC3000 analyzes the destination PBX extension number of the called number in the Centrex group prefix table. This is because the prefix of the called number is the outgoing prefix of the PBX group call. If the prefix of the destination PBX extension number matches a PBX group prefix defined using this command, the UAC3000 automatically originates a call to the destination PBX pilot number.

  3. After a subscriber line mapping the destination PBX pilot number rings, the destination PBX, through the IAD, plays an announcement or the dial tone directly to the IAD connected to the source PBX.

  4. After the UAC3000 delays PBX announcement duration defined using this command, it instructs the IAD connected to the source PBX to send the destination PBX extension number carried in an MGCP message to the destination PBX in DTMF mode.

  5. After receiving the destination PBX extension number, the destination PBX rings the destination PBX extension. The call is connected after the called party picks up the phone.

This parameter specifies the charging selection code used for charging different destination codes (prefixes). It is a key parameter for intra-Centrex charging. This parameter must be defined using ADD CHGCX before being used.

The table query process is as follows:
  1. The UAC3000 first uses Centrex group numberCaller charging source code, and Charging selection code to query the Centrex Intra-Group Charging table (configured using ADD CHGCX).
  2. If no matched data record is found in the Centrex Intra-Group Charging table, the UAC3000 uses Caller charging source code and Callee charging source code to query the Intra-Office Group Charging table (configured using ADD CHGGRP).
  3. If no matched data record is found in the Intra-Office Group Charging table, the UAC3000 uses Caller charging source code and Charging selection code configured for the long number prefix of the called party to query the Charging Case Index table (configured using ADD CHGIDX).
  4. If still no matched data record is found in the Charging Case Index table, the UAC3000 reports ALM-10921 Caller Charging Data Setting Error.
