Client connection issue for APs connected through ONT

Dear members,


I have a strange issue in my work place. We have Huwaei SmartAX 5680T, installed in our premisis, and uses Huawei Echolife HG8240 ONTs for conneting to PCs, phones and wireless APs accross the building.


The Wireless APs connected through fiber is from 4th floor to 6th floor. All other APs (from ground to 3rd floor )are connected through switches. If we move a mobile device from area with  AP connected through network switch, to a location where AP is connected through ONT, the wifi connects but, shows no internet connection


This problem persist mainly for mobile deivces, and laptops (connected through AP) and PCs connected directly to these ONTs works fine.


did anyone came across similar issue?

Can anyone suggest how to troubleshoot this please...

Hi, friend!

Is it possible to access the network through Wi-Fi, but cannot access the network through ETH? 

Or your mobile device (phone) can connect to Wi-Fi but cannot connect to the Internet?

Also, can you state your city?

In addition, is only the HG8240 connected to the MA5680T? And how many HG8240s are there? Can the AP model be provided?

Hi friend,
Sorry for the delay in response.
The devices connects to wifi, but no ping to internet or gateway.

If we connect PC directly to ONT, the devices works without any issues.

As we checked, the problem is mainly with device roaming.
If we connect a device to wifi through an access switch connected through swtich,
and roam to a place where access point is connected through ONT, the issue shows up

Hi, can you provide your device model?
I can only check the access-side devices (OLTs/ONTs). If the problem is not on the access side but on the AP/switch, I'm sorry I can't provide you with the service.

If you can, provide the configurations of these two devices.
