One upon a time, I have found alarm in my storage.

I start to investigate it and found that I have too small free disk space. Actually, I found it before alarm, but I need to write something epic…

I look at the capacity trend and found that I have only about 6 TB of free space and used more then 100 TB. It means that I have not so much time to do something. You can see the graph of our work progress. This year is mostly “linear” so at the time when I realize that I need more space I had enough time to expand it.

I look at the storage pool with low free space and found that I can’t expand it – I have no free space on my disks.

But I have a free space for disks. That is good! Because I don’t need to buy disk enclosure with the disks.

Here they are! My pleasure! My Christmas boxes! These are NL-SAS disks. They are slow but have big capacity – exactly what I need during this pandemic time – less money, more space.

I wear protection gloves and start to work with disks.

First I remove the blanks from the disk enclosure. Actually I try to record it on video… But it wasn’t easy in gloves and I decide to don’t show you how I did it.

Next goes disks. New disks are already equipped with holders and all I need to do is just “click, click, click them all”.
Next step is add disks to the disk domain.

Next step is expanding of the storage pool.

My attachement limit is over... To be continued :)
