Today, I’ll walk you through the daily life of network engineer and how Newtonian level byzantine complex issues are resolved with simple tricks. 
There are some misconceptions about network engineers, so before beginning, lets clear those out. This is life of network engineer and this is precisely about it:

Usually network engineer wake up with an outage alarm message, but you know it’s going to be a good day (as it can’t get any worse) but then you check your calendar and see you have meeting a customer who calls internet a series of tubes. As you can imagine that it gets pretty tough to deal with difficult customers so I frequently use meme in my presentation for better reach:
Now coming to fixing customer issues, 8 out of 10 times users face internet dysconnectivity issues (doesn’t matter if you are at work or at home). So, we carry out a very sophisticated approach of restarting the router

Moreover, out of remaining 2 times, 1.5 time someone is asking you to reinstall their windows, help them buy new phone or repair their laptop because YOU WORK IN IT. But to be fair, we do know about most of the tech as we have to deal with all sort of devices to make them work on our network. And also for the reason, that we stand out from the crowd (for some reason, don't know why).
But most of the time, problems are not that simple.

Enough ranting about the job; lets talk about the perks. Network engineering is one of the most secure job. It just has a tiny secret to it though.

But all in all, working in IT is a good job (untill it is not). And I highly recommend it to general audience (why should we suffer alone).
