Checking the System Disk Usage Rate

Latest reply: Oct 11, 2021 17:07:14 524 3 4 0 0

Step 1 Log in to the device as user admin.
Step 2 Run the following commands in sequence:
show system general: to obtain the device model and the current system time.
show upgrade package: to obtain the current system version and hot patch version.
Step 3 Run the following commands in sequence:
change user_mode current_mode user_mode=developer: to go to the developer mode.
minisystem: to go to the minisystem mode.
Step 4 Log in to all controllers in sequence and run the following commands:
disktool -s: to obtain the Device information about system disks (for a system disk, the Device value is /dev/sda or /dev/sdb).
disktool -S s Device and disktool -f i Device: to obtain details about the system disks such as values of ID#, Device Model, Firmware Version, VALUE (available rate of the system disks), and RAW_VALUE (raw value of the disks).
Then calculate the available rate of the system disks according to the following rules (if there are two system disks, obtain the smaller value):
If the value of Device Model starts with RTMMA, Firmware Version is A12, and the first eleven characters in the value of Serial number is any of FK001312142, FN001310053, FN021501169, FS001411132, FS021411097, FS021411210, FZ001311085, FZ021401085, FZ021402067, FZ021407135, FZ021408071, FZ021408094, FZ021409046, FZ021410016, and FZ021410046, the available rate of the system disk can be calculated as follows:
1. Obtain the value of RAW_VALUE corresponding to the system disk whose ID# is 173.
2. Convert the value of RAW_VALUE into a hexadecimal number and obtain the last four digits.
3. Convert the last four digits into a decimal number.
4. Calculate the usage rate of the system disk by using the following formula: Usage rate = The decimal number/3000.
5. Calculate the available rate of the system disk by using the following formula: Available rate of the system disk =1 – Usage rate of the system disk
In other cases, the available rate of the system disk is equal to the value of VALUE corresponding to the system disk whose ID# is 231.
Step 5 If the available rate of the system disk is greater than 15% in step 4, exit the minisystem mode and go to step 6.
Step 6 Run the following commands in sequence:
show disk general: to obtain information about all disks. Select IDs of 25 disks in each engine. If the number of disks is smaller than 25 in an engine, select all the IDs.
show disk general disk_id=ID: to obtain the value of Run Time (Day) (excluding invalid values that are greater than or equal to 5000) for each disk. Then calculate the maximum duration that a disk has been used in each engine.
Step 7 Run the following commands in sequence:
show controller general: to obtain IDs of all controllers.
show controller general controller=ID: to obtain the production date of each controller (the value of Manufactured in Electronic Label). Then calculate the duration that the controller has been used using the following formula:
Duration that the controller has been used = Current system time obtained in step 2 – Production date of each controller
Step 8 Calculate days required for system disks in each controller to reach the available rate of 90% based on the following formula: Days required = 0.9/Usage rate of the system disk x Duration that the system disk has been used. The duration that the system disk has been used is equal to the minimum between the values calculated in steps 6 and 7.

1. If the device model is any of 6800 V3, 6800F V3, and 6900 V3, the check result is Passed.
2. If the available rate of the system disk is less than or equal to 15% in step 4, the check result is Not passed.
3. If the available rate of the system disk cannot be obtained in step 4, the check result is Passed.
4. If the corresponding hot patch is installed, the check result is Passed.
5. If the corresponding hot patch is not installed and the result obtained in step 8 is larger than 6 years, the check result is Optimization recommended.
6. If the corresponding hot patch is not installed and the result obtained in step 8 is smaller than 6 years, the check result is Not passed.
