Changing the Password for Logging In Using the SSH, Telnet,or Serial Port for the VP9600 Series MCU(V600R006C10)

Answer:

The Administrator and test users can change the passwords of all the other users. Other users can change only their own passwords.

1. Log in to the VP9600 series MCU from PuTTY.
2. At the <HUAWEI VP9650> prompt, enter system-view telnet-config password and press Enter.

   The following information is displayed:

   User name: administrator
   User name{administrator,user}:

3. At the User name{administrator,user} prompt, enter the account name for which you want to change the password and press Enter.
4. Enter the old password if you want to change the password of the administrator user. At the current password prompt, enter the current password and press Enter.
5. At the new password prompt, enter the new password and press Enter.
   
   

6. At the confirm password prompt, enter the new password again and press Enter.
