Computer names identify servers. The following procedure describes how to change the computer name for VP1. The procedure for changing the computer names for other Windows servers is similar. Table 3 lists the planned computer names.
- Log in to an RH2288 V3 server as the administrator.
- Click
Start,
right-click Computer, and
choose Properties from
the shortcut menu.
The System window is displayed.
- Click
Advanced system
settings.
The System Properties dialog box is displayed.
- Click
the Computer Name tab
then Change on the
tab.
The Computer Name/Domain Changes dialog box is displayed.
- Change
Computer
name to VP1, as shown

OK.
A dialog box is displayed, prompting you to restart the server.
- Click
OK.
The System Properties dialog box is displayed.
- Click Close. In the displayed dialog box, select Restart Now to restart the RH2285 v2 server.
