Hi All,

If the CE6856 Switches configure in MLAG pair, does it/how to support/configure per vlan spanning tree and can work with Cisco device?

Thank you.

From the result of the show spanning tree command on the Cisco switch, interface Po10 detects the BPDU packets forwarded by Cisco switch itself, could you please provide the configuration of the interface G0/1 and Po10 on the Cisco switch.

I have tried most of the STP configuration from much document, but does not find any configuration is working with pvst. Only MSTP on Cisco and Huawei can operate with default instance 0. I followed second link to configure in Huawei (RSTP and V-STP), then Cisco configure PVST, it will block Huawei ports. Cisco show spanning tree: Interface Role Sts Cost Prio.Nbr Type Gi0/1 Desg FWD 19 128.1 P2p Edge Po10 Desg BLK 3 128.136 P2p self-looped

Huawei Configs:

stp bridge-address 0000-5e39-0039

stp mode rstp

stp v-stp enable

stp instance 0 priority 4096

#

interface Eth-Trunk10

 description Link to L2

 port link-type trunk

 stp edged-port enable

 mode lacp-static

 dfs-group 1 m-lag 1

#

interface Eth-Trunk10.218020 mode l2

 encapsulation dot1q vid 20

 bridge-domain 218020

#

interface Eth-Trunk126

 description Link to MLAG

 mode lacp-static

 peer-link 1

Cisco show spanning tree:

Interface           Role Sts Cost      Prio.Nbr Type

------------------- ---- --- --------- -------- --------------------------------

Gi0/1               Desg FWD 19        128.1    P2p Edge

Po10                Desg BLK 3         128.136  P2p self-looped

@WesKerT if the interface on Huawei switch is block, how about lower down the root priority on Cisco switch, so that the Huawei switch could be selected as the root bridge?

Thanks for your reply.

The current issue is that I cannot exchange the spanning tree info/bdpu with Cisco.
I have figured out 2 problems.

1. If there is single Cisco SW(Rapid-PVST) and single Huawei SW(VBST).
Both SW are thinking they are root bridge, the traffic cannot forward.
In Huawei switch, I enter display stp vlan info br
It cannot see vlan 20 and 30 information.
Huawei:
stp vlan 20 30 priority 8192
#
vlan batch 20 30
#
stp bridge-address 0000-5e39-0039
stp mode vbst
#

2. When I configure two Huawei SWes with MLAG, each SW connect a single link to Cisco SW as MLAG eth-trunk.
Huawei SWes using RSTP with v-stp, Cisco using PVST.
Huawei and Cisco SW still cannot communicate.
Just like #5 post, the port is blocked and have self-loop shown in Cisco SW.
