CE5850EI and 6850EI: How to disable stacking?

Latest reply: Sep 18, 2015 15:38:15 3420 4 0 0

Hi everyone

I'm having a hard time disabling the stack function on our CEs (5850 / 6850). It is enabled out of the box.

Version is: V100R003SPH007

I tried these commands in system-view with no luck:

[ABC]...

undo stack enable
undo stacking enable
stacking disable
stack disable
disable stack
disable stacking

No command works. How can I disable stacking?

Thank you for your help.

Splitting a Stack

This section describes how to split a stack.

Context

If a stack is not required, split the stack to restore the member switches to standalone switches. The recommended procedure for splitting a stack is as follows:
  1. Back up the stack configuration file in case the stack will be used again.

  2. Remove stack cables.

  3. Restore the physical member ports as service ports.

  4. Restore the stack member ID to the default value.

  5. Restart the switches.

Procedure

  1. Run the save command in the user view to save the configuration.
  2. Run the copy source-filename destination-filename all command to back up the configuration file to all the member switches.
  3. Remove stack cables between the member switches.
  4. Delete the physical member ports from the stack ports using either of the following methods:

    • Run the undo port member-group interface interface-type { interface-number1 [ to interface-number2 ] } &<1-32> command in the stack port view.

    • Run the undo stack-port [ member-id/port-id ] command in the interface view.

  5. Restore the physical member ports as service ports using either of the following methods:

    • Run the undo port mode stack interface interface-type { interface-number1 [ to interface-number2 ] } &<1-32> command in the stack port view.

    • Run the undo port mode stack command in the interface view.

  6. Run the stack member member-id renumber 1 command in the stack management view to restore the stack member ID to 1.
  7. Run the save command in the user view to save the configuration.
  8. Run the reboot command in the user view to restart the switch.
