CE switch blocking SSH on certain VLANIF? Only VLANIF1 working?

Latest reply: Dec 1, 2015 08:08:39 1881 4 0 0

Hi everyone!

I've got a CE6850EI here which gives me some headaches. Configured are 2 VLANs

VLAN 1 where all devices reside with VLANIF
VLAN 99* as management VLAN with VLANIF

Now, I can access this switch via SSH form VLAN1 on VLANIF1, but VLANIF99 is not working.

Our S series switches work when I try the same, the VLANIF99 works from VLAN1.

Wireshark tells me this:
CE switch blocking SSH on certain VLANIF? Only VLANIF1 working?-1346939-1

So, the switch is anserwering...but then the connection dies. If I connect from VLAN1 to VLANIF1 it works:
CE switch blocking SSH on certain VLANIF? Only VLANIF1 working?-1346939-2

Why is the switch not answering correctly on VLANIF99?

Hi! Thank you for your response. We have a very very simple config so far.

Hi, I haven't been working with these switches for long but is it something to do with your default route?

Can you ping the IP on vlanif 99?

Also what is the IP address of your management server/pc and is it coming via another switch which has the appropriate vlan tagged to the problem switch?

Hi firstpath1

The routes are OK, tracert shows no error and it takes the right path.

Yes, I can ping the VLANIF99 interface.

The management PC resides in VLAN1 so far, in the 192.168.135.0/24 range. VLANIF99 finds itself in the 192.168.99.224/27 range.

It is funny that everything works with my S5720s, but my CEs refuse to do so.
