Dear Axe,
Thanks for asking, please check this out:
Since metadata needs to be cached in memory, the Dorado V3 series of different memory sizes can support different user capacities. After exceeding the maximum user capacity of 5%, the system will be read only and cannot be written any more.
The maximum capacity is shown in the following table:
| Dorado6000 V3 | Dorado5000 V3 NVMe | Dorado5000 V3 SAS |
Memory of single engine | 512GB/1TB/2TB | 512GB | 256GB/512GB |
Max user capacity of one engine | 1000TB | 500TB | 500TB |
Capacity at which the system changes to read only | 1050TB | 525TB | 525TB |
The maximum capacity of the major peer vendors' devices is as follows:
Device | Dorado6000 V3 | Pure Storage | ExtremIO X2 | Nimble | A9000R |
Max user capacity of two controllers(with deduplication) | 1000 TB (3:1) | M10:30 TB (5:1) M20:250 TB (5:1) M50:500 TB (5:1) M70:1500 TB (5:1) | 718 TB (6:1) | AF1000:165 TB (5:1) AF3000:335 TB (5:1) AF5000:680 TB (5:1) AF7000:1190 TB (5:1) AF9000:2045 TB (5:1) | 600 TB (5:1, 4 nodes) |
