Handling Process
Firstly, open EGW1500E web page and check Voice Parameters page.
In section DSP, make sure all supported voice codecs are selected to accommodate
all codecs on IP phone.
Then open eSpace 6850 web page and check on the
settings page to make G.729A/B as first priority. Last, do some
test.
Root Cause
Since voice call established using VPN connection and customer do
not set separated VLAN and QOS, we ***yze codecs used for this connection is
too heavy for this connection.
Suggestions
Huawei UC Solution provides bunch of voice codecs so that we can
use by priorities depends to customer network condition. To make sure customer
get best experience, make sure to set voice codec first priority to G.729A/B.
Based on the technical documentation, G.729 has lowest bandwidth consumption and
best voice quality compares to other supported voice codecs.
G.729A
annex is related to simpler algorithm from the original G729, but has a lower
voice quality. G729B annex has silence suppression feature.
