Today, I’d like to share a case.
Problem description
For topology change reasons, customer wants to change management VLAN from MDU MA5612 V800R308C00 addded to MA5603T V800R008C01SPC100
0x02e21a102 The GPON ONT configuration recovery fails
When MDU is added to MA5603T and the command ont ipconfig x.x.x.x MDU goes to failed state and a "0x02e21a102 The GPON ONT configuration recovery fails" alarm appears in the system. If the command undo ont ipconfig is applied to MDU, it goes back to normal state and the configuration recovery failed recovery alarm appears in the system.
Handling process
The management IP must be the same than the one set in MDU VLANif - This is not actually the problem, when VLANif is erased from MDU, the problem still appears.
VLAN shouldn't have any service port associated to it - This is not the solution, once service ports are erased from VLAN in MDU, the problem still appears

Solution
It is created a new test VLAN in MDU with a VLANif, so, we will not lose management. Then, the first management VLAN is erased from MDU. The command ont ipconfig is applied to MDU from OLT, indicating the new VLAN. MDU doesn't go to failed state any more and any alarm appears; the new VLAN is automatically created on MDU once ont ipconfig command is applied over OLT. Finally, we can go into MDU to create the new VLANif for this VLAN to finally have management through the recently changed VLAN. Now we can erase test VLAN and the management will run over the new configuration
