The backup window is a user-specified time segment. During a user-requested time segment, DDS DB instances are backed up. With these periodic data backups, DDS allows you to restore DDS DB instances to the backups during a retention period. When backing up data, services are not affected. However, you cannot restart the database on the DDS console.
