Logging In to the Web LCT (Through NMS Interface)

When the NMS interface is used, users need to set the IP address of a computer on which the Web LCT is installed and the IP address of an NE to be in one network segment.

Prerequisites

The NE has been powered on.

Tools, Equipment, and Materials

Web LCT

The NCE does not support this operation.

Procedure

  1. Start a laptop and log in to the operating system.

  2. Set the IP address of the laptop.


    The IP address must meet the following requirements:


  • The IP address is in the same network segment (the default network segment is 129.9.0.0) as the NE IP address, but is different from the NE IP address.

  • Its subnet mask is the same as that of the NE IP address (the default subnet mask is 255.255.0.0).

  • The default gateway IP address is blank.

Use a network cable to connect the network port of the laptop and the NMS/COM interface of the IDU system control, cross-connect, and timing board.

The NMS/COM interface on the system control, cross-connect, and timing board is an interface that is self-adaptive to a crossover or straight-through network cable. The wire sequence of a crossover cable and that of a straight-through cable are provided in Network Cable in the OptiX RTN 950A Radio Transmission System IDU Hardware Description.


At this time, the green indicators on the NMS/COM interface and the network interface of the laptop should be on. A message will be displayed indicating that the network has established a local connection if the operating system has been configured to do so. If the operating system displays a message indicating an IP address conflict, change the IP address of the laptop.

On the desktop, double-click the Start Web LCT icon.


The system displays the USER LOGIN window of the Web LCT.

If the USER LOGIN window is not displayed, see The Login Window Fails to Be Displayed After the Web LCT Is Started.


Enter the values of User NamePassword, and Verification Code, and then click Login.

At the first login to the Web LCT, change the password as prompted.


If the entered User NamePassword, and Verification Code are correct, the NE List page is displayed in the Internet Explorer.

  • Default password: Changeme_123

The Login Window Fails to Be Displayed After the Web LCT Is Started

If the USER LOGIN window is not displayed, perform the following:

  1. Set the Internet Explorer to be the default browser.

  2. Set the security level of the Internet Explorer to medium or lower.

  3. Disable the pop-up blocker.

    If plug-ins that can block pop-up windows are also installed, disable their blocking function.

  4. Set the options of the Internet Explorer.

    1. Run the Internet Explorer.

    2. Choose Tool > Internet Options from the main menu of the Internet Explorer.

    3. On the General tab page, click Settings in the Temporary Internet files area.

    4. In Check for newer versions of stored pages, select Every visit to the page, and then click OK.

    5. Click OK.

Root Cause
I suspect 2 possibilies in my process of trobleshooting.

01.) The NM communication port is faulty

02.) Something is wrong with my IP address range  of my computer. I have tried from 10.50.21.10 to 10.50.21.254 & yet, I still cannot log-in this RTN950.

Suggestions
I would like to suggest that future U2000 WebLCT using IP auto-discovery method could not only discover the NE ID, NE-IP but also their respective IP sub-net mask of the device.

This new suggested function would seriously help O & M engineers to troubleshoot at site.

Hi try to change when use search mode and advance mode and looking on the default domian for IPs default from Huawei change on IP Gateway to SSL Gateway check also you have the last Weblct version
