Can ETP4890's SMU01C Module Communicate with an MA5800?

Hello Huawei experts!


This post enquires whether ETP4890's SMU01C module can communicate with an MA5800. Please find more information below.


ISSUE DESCRIPTION


In the ETP4890 User Manual, it's described that remote management can be done with the SMU01A module via Ethernet and with the SMU01B module via a serial port to the Huawei AN Equipment (i.e. UA5000, MA5800). However, in the case of the SMU01C module, it says that communication is done with a 'power and environment monitoring device', with no indication of protocol. 


So my question is: can the SMU01C module communicate with the ESC ports in a Huawei AN equipment?

Hello, friend!


The SMU01C supports the RS485 and RS232 serial ports for northbound communication.


For the MA5800 and UA5800, you need to check the board model. Generally, the ESC port on the board supports the RS485 protocol.


Therefore, the SMU01C can communicate with the ESC port of the OLT.
