Hello everyone!

This post enquires about a camera NTP issue. Please see more details below.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

I'd like to configure the NTP on the cameras. I first activate the address of the NTP server on the VCN510 and then use the address of the VCN in the cameras as an NTP server, but the cameras do not synchronize with my NTP server.

Could anyone help me solve this VCN camera NTP issue?

Thanks in advance!

Hi dear!

If you want to configure the NTP servers, you should set an NTP source server and then open the Camera NTP. The below content may work for you.

NTP source

  1. Log in to the OMU portal as the admin user.

  2. Choose Local Configuration > Server Configuration.

  3. Configure the NTP clock source:

    1. Set The NTP clock source server to Yes. Set the IP address of the NTP server.

    2. (Optional) Click Get Time Difference to view the time difference between the current server and the NTP clock source.

    3. (Optional) Click Sync with NTP Server to synchronize the time of the current server with the NTP source server.

    4. Click Save. After the NTP clock source has been configured, the OMU portal restarts. You need to re-log in to the OMU portal.

Camera NTP

  1. Log in to the OMU portal as the admin user.

  2. Choose Maintenance > Unified Configuration.

  3. Select the server to which cameras need to connect, set Module name to SCU and Parameter type to System property and click Search.

  4. In the search results, click Edit in the row where Parameter Name is NTPIPC and set Value to 1.

  5. Click Save to enable the camera NTP time synchronization function. After the camera NTP time synchronization function has been enabled, the cameras, after being connected to the server, will automatically time-synchronize with the server.

Have you enabled the Network-wide NTP Function? If yes, please close it.
