Burnout syndrome. How do you choose to deal with it?

Hello Community!

I'm sure there comes a day, for each an every one of you, when the burnout symptomes start 'growing roots'.

The burnout syndrome is caused by long work hours, as well as by the stressful and anxiety-inducing work environments.

How do you choose to prevent it? Or... if you're already experiencing it or have already experienced it in the past, how did you choose to deal with it?

A short-time method would be to disconnect by taking a prolonged vacation. But do you think it would help out in the long term? How do you reset yourself?

Feel free to discuss!

Try to take action. To get started:

Evaluate your options. Discuss specific concerns with your supervisor. Maybe you can work together to change expectations or reach compromises or solutions. Try to set goals for what must get done and what can wait.

Seek support. Whether you reach out to co-workers, friends or loved ones, support and collaboration might help you cope. If you have access to an employee assistance program, take advantage of relevant services.

Try a relaxing activity. Explore programs that can help with stress such as yoga, meditation or tai chi.
Get some exercise. Regular physical activity can help you to better deal with stress. It can also take your mind off work.

Get some sleep. Sleep restores well-being and helps protect your health.

Mindfulness. Mindfulness is the act of focusing on your breath flow and being intensely aware of what you're sensing and feeling at every moment, without interpretation or judgment. In a job setting, this practice involves facing situations with openness and patience, and without judgment.

Keep an open mind as you consider the options. Try not to let a demanding or unrewarding job undermine your health.

Well, when I feel that way I just try to rest a little bit.

I can even sleep back for many many hours.

But by the time I'm done, I just try to meet a friend, so that we can have some fun and even workout to relax.

This works for almost all the time for me.

Vacations are an easy escape. But when vacations are not possible (like these days in covid when we can't go anywhere), I like to play games to get my mind off the situation and get back to work with a refreshed mind.

PC. It's easy to customize as per requirement and up-gradations are also cheaper. Like recently I swapped some old RTX with the newer ones; sold older RTX and trippled the RAM. So, all-in-all easier, cheaper and more comfortable HW.
Are you playing anything these days?

I usually also prefer PC, but some games can't run properly on it, so I resorted to PS4.
These days I started playing Fallout 4 :)

Heard good things about it. I haven' played it yet but it's on the list. What's your review?

If you're a fan of the franchise, it's definitely something to try
