Today will share with you a board BPA.
The function of the BPA board: Increases the launched optical power of the line board to 13-15 dBm or 15-17 dBm. As a result, when the G.652 optical fiber with a loss of 0.275 dB/km is used, the transmission distance can be 120 km, 130 km, or above.
but how it's working? Please check the following information

So from the parameters and the front panel we can see, there's two ports on this board which called BA and PA, each port with different functions:
BA part: Which is a booster amplifier it's can improve the TX optical power
PA part: With low sensitivity which is increases the power of the small-volume optical signals by 22-25 dB (N1BPA) or 22-33 dB (N2BPA).
