Big attenuation on the splice

During the installation of optical cables in the building, a tight-buffer optical cable standard G.657.A2 was used for the vertical line, and the standard G.657.B3 was used as a drop cable. These cables are spliced together. After that, a larger attenuation appeared on the fusion splice, about 0.5dB. Why?
