Dears;

which BGP attribute shall I use when there are two routers with the same AS-number to go to the internet. Here is the topology. Shall I use MED or AS-path.

Hi @tesfama,

in your situation, both R1 and R2 are in the same AS, for MED and AS-PATH, the MED would be the best choice. 

What should be pointed out is that if you are just adjusting the traffic path to the Cloud, no matter R1 and R2 are in the same AS or not, the AS-PATH wouldn't be help, cause the length of the as-path in both situation are the same. To use the AS-PATH to adjust the traffic path, you might need to configure the traffic poilcy to adjust the length of the as-path.

You you are connected with same ISP then you will be ok to use MED. but if there are two ISPs then use AS-Path for reverse traffic. Hope you are getting my point.

Hello,
Do you mean you need to control the path of the R3 router to the Internet? If yes, the upstream traffic can be controlled by Local_Pref and the downstream traffic can be controlled by MED.
