This post was last edited by xxiii at 2017-10-24 22:25. In BGP, I need to attach a community and a local preference to the route advertised by the default-route-advertise command. However, it appears that apply commands in the policy are ignored in this case, is this correct?

peer x default-route-advertise route-policy xpol

route-policy ibgp.ipv4-orig-dflt permit node 30000
description do we have DIRECT connectivity to the inet?
  if-match ip-prefix tran
  apply local-preference 10
  apply community 65000:1

When the 0.0.0.0/0 route is received at peer x however, it does not have the local preference or the community attached to it.

In your example the route-policy configured and the route policy which was applied is different, so definitely it will not work.

what's the ip prefix tran.
"if-match ip-prefix tran" is a rule check , if match this, the actions below would be executed.
you can try to modify the ip-prefix tran to 0.0.0.0/0 or just delete if-match judgement command.

Well, that's what seems like should happen, but in actual practice, it is originating a default but without a local preference of 10, or community 65000:1.

tran is an ip-prefix list of some IP addresses, at least one of which should be present, before this router orginiates a default to the peer in question.
