What advice would you give to someone who has just graduated from a technical university?

Get a job abroad. You'll learn a lot more than job skills. You'll learn life skills. You'll learn perspective.
You'll also be different to those around you so you'll bring fresh perspectives - and that's far more powerful than you probably realise - you will challenge things more.

I think the same goes for the the internships at companies abroad. Those ones are a great plus for your CV too!
