Hello team,

Why is a BBU charging check required when a storage device is powered on after a power-off triggered by an exception in Oceanstor v3? Thanks.

Dear Phany,

Have a good day.

When it is powered on after a power-off, the system checks whether the BBU has sufficient power and does not proceed to the next power-on process until the BBU passes the check. The whole process takes a maximum of three hours.

Observe the BBU indicator, and the only power on the storage device after BBU charging is complete.

Description of the BBU indicator:

  • Steady green: The BBU is fully charged.

  • Blinking green (once per second): The BBU is being charged.

  • Blinking green (four times per second): The BBU is being discharged.

  • Steady red: The BBU is faulty.

  • Off: The BBU is powered off or is hot-swappable.

Thanks.
