Basic operation of eNSP

eNSP (enterprise network simulation platform) is a free, scalable and graphical network simulation tool platform provided by Huawei. It mainly carries out software simulation for enterprise network routers and switches, perfectly presents the real scene of real equipment, supports large-scale network simulation, and gives users the opportunity to simulate exercises without real equipment, Learn network technology.

Today, let's learn the basic operation of eNSP

In the equipment interface area:

Light gray indicates that the device is not started or the interface is in the physical down state, dark gray indicates that the device has been started or the interface is in the physical up state, and black indicates that the interface is collecting messages. Right click on the list of interfaces in the physical up state to start / stop message collection

In the new topology:

Right click the network device accessories to pop up the interface configuration page. In the view, you can view the device panel and the available excuse cards. You need to add, drag in, delete and drag out the interface cards supported by eNSP; The serial port number of the device can be changed in the configuration. The default value is 2000, and the optional range is 2000 ~ 65535; Right click the simulated PC, basic settings - command line - group - UDP contracting tool, and enter the ping command in the command line to test connectivity

Configuration import:

Under device not started, right-click the device, select configuration import, file format (. CFG or. ZIP format) and import the device.

Device startup:

After selecting the device to be started, you can start the device by clicking start device in the toolbar or selecting the right-click menu of the device. After startup, the CLI command line interface will pop up for configuration

Device and topology saving:

Save the topology in the toolbar and export the configuration file. Right click the device, select export device configuration command in the shortcut menu bar, enter the name of the device configuration file, and export the device configuration information as a. cfg file.

Extended function: sample loading - click the start button in the toolbar to pop up the typical experimental cases attached to eNSP to verify the characteristics of various network protocols. Open the examples to see the topology networking clearly. Each example includes a specific experimental configuration, just like a configured real network environment. After running the devices in the topology, the devices will automatically load the configuration. Users can learn and theoretical knowledge in this set of simulation environment.

Data packet capture – right click to capture data packets when the device is running. Users can intuitively feel the flow of data packets and deeply understand the principle of network protocol.

Support third-party software to log in to the eNSP analog device – in the interface view of the software, a serial port number will be displayed after the device name, which is the serial port number eNSP basic operation to be set when using third-party tools.
