I have 200 cameras. I want to use 1080P resolution. How do I calculate the total bandwidth? How much storage space does video take up every day?

bro:
1.if you want to use 1080P resolution ,We recommend that you use 4Mbps per camera.you can set it on the IVS client.

2. The bandwidth of each camera normally we will calculate additional 20% bandwidth. In the network transmission, the network rate is not constant. The transmission rate changes with the waveform. so when we calculated the bandwidth it will be added 20% additional bandwidth.
3.Please refer to the following for the storage of each camera.

Generally speaking , if you want use 1080P ,we suggest the bandwidth is more than 4 M , and in this situation , the video recording is about 50G every day for one IPC ,so please confirm if you have enough bandwidth or enough storage space

Hello, boss! if you want use 1080P resolution, in order to insurnace the high clearness, I suggest you to provide more than 4Mbps bandwidth for every camera. so the total bandwidth is 800Mbps. For the storage space, you can calculate the storage space refer to below formula: storage = 200*4Mbps*3600*24/8/1024/1024=8.24TB, so every day you need 8.24TB for the 200 cameras to storage.

Hi Sir:
depend on our empirical value,if you want to use 1080P resolution for each camera. the totally bandwidth is 4Mx200=800Mbps. totally space need in storage every day is 800Mbps*3600*24/8/1024/1024=8.24TB.

Hello sir,

Wish I can help you.

The storage capacity is calculated based on the bit rate. The formula for calculating the storage capacity is as follows:

One hour storage capacity of a camera with the bit rate of n (unit: Mbit/s) (unit: GB) =[(n/8) *3600]/1024 GB

Formula parsing:

The unit of n Mbps/8 is n MBps.

n MBps*3600 calculates the storage capacity of one hour (unit: MB).

n *3600/1024 The unit is GB.

The following table lists the calculation results of the storage capacity of one camera for one hour and one day in common bit rates. The calculation result is not an accurate value and is rounded off after a decimal point.

Hello, bro,

wish you can consider my answer.
the formula is like below:
storage(MB)=IPC Bit rate(Mbps) * time (days) * 24*3600/8
and based on the experience :
1day 1M is 11G. 2M is 22G. you can see..

Hi, brother! Wish you can consider my solution
For the storage space, you can calculate the storage space refer to below formula: storage = 200*4Mbps*3600*24/8/1024/1024=8.24TB, so every day you need 8.24TB for the 200 cameras to storage.
