How can AP channels be distributed to avoid or reduce internal and external interference?

Dear

You can use a cellular channel distribution to avoid overlapping channels.

For example, there are only three channels that do not overlap in the 2.4 GHz frequency band: channel 1, channel 6, and channel 11. Proper channel distribution can greatly reduce co-channel interference in a WLAN network. Follow these principles when distributing radio channels:

  1. Use channels that don't overlap in adjacent areas.

  2. Adjust the transmission power of the APs to avoid interference from shared channel between areas.

  3. It uses a cellular channel distribution so that channels can be multiplexed without causing overlapping coverage areas.

Download wifiscanner and you will see how it works with the wifi of your home or office And I recommend you read this:

Hi Wedado,

When interference exists in the radio environment, the interference affects radio signal transmission and may cause signal transmission failure. How to avoid and reduce the interference?

Here's the answer.

Use a cellular channel distribution to avoid channel overlapping. For example, there are only three non-overlapping channels in the 2.4 GHz frequency band: channel 1, channel 6, and channel 11. A proper channel distribution can greatly reduce co-channel interference on a WLAN network. Follow these principles when distributing radio channels:

  • Use non-overlapping channels in adjacent areas.

  • Adjust APs' transmit power to avoid co-channel interference between areas.

  • Use a cellular channel distribution so that channels can be multiplexed without causing overlapping coverage areas.

I hope it helps!

Hi wedado,

2.4G channels have interference between adjacent channels. Therefore, we generally allocate channels between five channels, such as 1, 6, 11, or 2, 7 12.
If the channel is a 5G channel, the channel interference does not need to be considered too much.
