We have two access controllers for one corpoarte user, one is configured as active and other as backup. Wireless configuration is synchronized from primary to backup. The backup controller was rebooted accidentally few days ago and after that the synchronization has stopped and asking for manual triggering in primary controller to start the synchronization process. Please confirm us why this is happening and how to resolve and automate this issue in further circumstances.

According to the automatic backup principle: If public configurations are performed on either AC when the inter-AC CAPWAP tunnel fails, after the CAPWAP tunnel recovers, the system will detect that the configurations are not synchronized and prompts you to manually trigger wireless configuration synchronization.

Since the backup controller was rebooted accidentally, some public configurations may be lost. Therefore, you need to manually trigger configuration synchronization.
To prevent this from happening again, you can enable the auto-save configuration function.

Hi,

Please go through the following HA configuration guide and compare your configuration for improvement:

Moreover, it is also advised to update the OS as customer is running R008 which is quite old. Newer version will provide much better stability and security.

Thanks for your info. But if I do not change any HSB configuration in primary controller then why the synchronization is not happening automatically. Is there any dead time from primary controller to search for secondary device. Also if i do not change any configuration in primary and the secondary rebooted , in that case should I also do manual triggering.

Please let me know. It will be very helpful for me
