Hi there, everybody!
This post is about ASON features based on the split of optical and electrical NEs. Please have a look below for more details.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The electrical regeneration boards and the optical-layer boards must be installed on the same optical NE. The total number of subracks of an optical NE cannot exceed 24 and the total number of wavelengths that traverse electrical regeneration boards cannot exceed 64. When networkwide NEs are V100R011C00 and later versions, electrical regeneration boards can be placed on electrical NEs.
Two regeneration boards need to be used to bidirectionally regenerate services if each of them can regenerate services unidirectionally. The two regeneration boards must be installed in paired slots.
For separate optical and electrical NEs, active and standby system control boards must be used in the master subracks of the optical and electrical NEs.
When regeneration boards are inserted to an electrical NE, the multiplexer or demultiplexer boards of each regeneration board must be consistent (for example, the boards at two ends are both D40 boards). In addition, one pair of regeneration boards can be connected to the multiplexer or demultiplexer boards only of one optical NE.
If regeneration links need to traverse electrical NEs, regeneration boards of the electrical NEs must be specified. If regeneration boards do not need to be specified, configure the regeneration links so that they traverse optical NEs.
That would be all on the topic of ASON features based on the split of optical and electrical NEs. Thanks for reading this post!
