Hi,
To establish a neighbor relationship, only Hello packets need to be exchanged. In area authentication and routing domain authentication, only the received routing information packets (LSP and SNP) are authenticated according to the preset mode and password, and authentication information is added to the sent packets. This does not affect the establishment of neighbor relationships. In your case, if IS-IS is enabled on the interface loopback0 of A and B, because of the authentication, you can find that A can still ping the loopback0 of B, but B cannot ping the loopback0 of A.
