Hi,

I am interested to find out what is the procedure to upgrade the firmware on AR6xx routers using the USB port, I already tried the USB_AR.ini manifers and procedure but doesn't work on AR6xx series.

What is the procedure and the format of the USB drive in order to perform a upgrade to a new, configured device ?

Thanks!

bro,The USB flash drive must be in FAT32 format. If the USB flash drive is not in FAT32 format, convert it to FAT32 format (format the USB flash drive) before using it.
The upgrade procedure is as follows:
https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/doc/EDOC1100210020?idPath=24030814|21432787|23708834|250680707

I believe I tried all the possible combination, still getting the same error: Error: Update failed because the SN= field in the INI file is invalid. Error: Analyse the head of update config file failed.

I will ask my colleagues to confirm if they have received the same error. I'll give you an answer when I have the results.

DEVICENUM=1

[DEVICE1 DESCRIPTION]

OPTION=OK

ESN=DEFAULT

MAC=DEFAULT

VERSION=V300R019C10SPC300

FILENUM=3

TYPE1=SYSTEM-SOFTWARE

FILENAME1=AR610-V300R019C10SPC300.cc

TYPE2=SYSTEM-PAT

FILENAME2=AR610-V300R019SPH013.pat

TYPE3=SYSTEM-CONFIG_SIPAG

FILENAME3=config.zip

END AR

And here is the log:

 I don't understand why it doesn't like the SN field. Thanks!

bro, Has it been upgraded once before? If the upgrade has been performed before, change the last digit of the SN to any number before the upgrade.

Hi there! The device is brand new, this is the first upgrade. I tried multiple serials without success.

Also, in the log file the device shows a serial of: SN: ( meaning none, empty ).
The ESN is shown correctly, only the SN: is blank.

bro, After consulting other colleagues, we agree that your .ini file is correct. You are advised to confirm with the TAC center.
