Context

Configuration Roadmap

The configuration roadmap is as follows:

  1. Configure a voice user.

  2. Configure a call route and a SIP trunk group.

  3. Configure intra-office and inter-office call prefixes.

Procedure

  1. Configure a voice user.

  2. Configure a call route UCM.

  3. Create and configure a trunk group UCM1.

  4. Configure intra-office and inter-office call prefixes.

    # Configure an intra-office call prefix. Create a call prefix profile 82, set the call prefix to 82, specify the basic service, configure the intra-office call, and set the maximum and minimum lengths of a number that can be parsed to 5 and 2 respectively.

Configuring the Cisco CUCM

Context

Configuration Roadmap

The configuration roadmap is as follows:

  1. Configure a SIP trunk.

  2. Configure parameters of the remote device, such as the IP address and port number.

  3. Configure a routing rule.

Procedure

  1. Access the CUCM main menu and choose Device > Trunk to access the Trunk Configuration page, as shown in Figure Trunk configuration. Set Trunk Type to SIP Trunk, specify SIP, and click Next.Figure1 Trunk configuration

  2. In Device Information, enter parameters of the remote device, such as the name of the remote device, as shown in Figure Device information.Figure1 Device information

  3. In SIP Information, enter the IP address and port number of the remote device, as shown in Figure SIP information.Figure1 SIP information

  4. Click Save to save configured parameters. Click Reset to make the configuration take effect.

  5. Choose Call Routing > Route/Hunt > Route Pattern to configure a routing rule. The routing rule is triggered when the Cisco CUCM receives a called number that starts with 82 and has three characters following 82. Select the IP address of the CUCM from the Gateway/Router List drop-down list box. Click Save to save the configuration, as shown in Figure Configuring a routing rule.Figure1 Configuring a routing rule

Verification

When the user of phone 80001 calls the user of phone 82000, phone 82000 rings.

Exception Handling

If the communication fails, run the debugging voice sipmsg all command to enable log collection of the sipmsg module and contact technical support personnel.
