Greetings to all,

I hope you can guide me to solve my problem. Someone gave me an AP6510DN-AGN V200R002C00, which I believe is in FIT mode, since I cannot access the configuration webpage, I can only access it through the CLI via IP 192.168.0.1, and the PROMPT it shows is: AP#.

I want to use that AP to connect it to any router with an internet connection and provide internet service to my community.

How can I do that? Do I need to upgrade it to a more recent version? In that case, how do I upgrade it? I have searched the Huawei page a lot, and all the upgrade guides only show to upgrade from newer versions to that of my AP to much more recent ones, but no guide to upgrade from version V200R002C00.

Please, someone who is so kind as to guide me step by step to solve my problem, or telling me the exact links where to get the information and software necessary for that purpose.

If the information is very extensive, you can send it to andrycast@hotmail.com.

Thank you in advance for all the help you can give me.

Hello,

Your device version is too old. There is no documentation for this version. You can switch the AP mode to FAT  by referring to the AP product documentation of the new version.

https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/doc/EDOC1100081212/#EN-US_TOPIC_0168141567

 If the methods in the document do not work. As other friends have said, please update your device.

If you want an answer in Spanish, you can go directly to the Spanish forum.

https://forum.huawei.com/enterprise/es/forums

Alternatively, you can call the hotline for help.

I hope this helps.

@andrycast hello,
if the AP works in FIT mode, then it should be connected to the router those support the WLAN feature.
Or you can switch the AP from FIT mode to FAT mode, which results the AP works like a router with WLAN function.
To upgrade the AP, you can download the firmware at https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/ap/ap6000-pid-22039827/software
If you are not allowed to download the software, you migh need to bind your accout with the device information.
If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Ok, thank you very much for responding so soon. I think I am not sure about the concepts of FIT and FAT, and I did not explain well what I really want to do with that AP. I really want to connect my AP to a router or switch, for example a Motorola router that receives internet through a cable ISP, and provide internet to my community, since many cannot subscribe to that cable internet service. That motorola router has 4 ethernet ports, and I want to use one of them to connect the AP.
I must clarify that the AP is reset to factory settings, and I can enter the system using SSH, and I already have the command guide for version V200R002C00, but the truth is that I do not know how to configure it to work and allow me to give internet to other users via wifi.
I don't know if what I wrote is enough to guide me better.
I would also like to know if they are trained to respond in Spanish, since that is my foreign language, and although I do know enough English, it is also difficult for me to express myself clearly. I am using the google translator, but I debug it because it is not very accurate, but it helps me a lot, however I would like, if possible, express myself in Spanish, to see if the information is more accurate and fluid.
Either way I am very grateful for the help.
Greetings.

if it is FIT mode
you have to connect it to the AC. the version of the AP and AC should be compatible
in FAT mode
you can directly connect it to the AP.
if you want to upgrade ;
check the version mapping
then you can use batch upgrade from the AC, or you can directly connect a console to the AP and restart it, then you press CTRL+B to enter the bootrom menu, then upload the file to the AP, and select it as the next startup.
Reminder, the software version of an AP is different for FIT and FAT mode

I don't have the AC. I just want to connect the AP to any router or switch that gives me the internet to distribute it through the AP to my community. In the message I wrote earlier, I really explain what I want and what I have: An AP6510DN-AGN V200R002C00 and a cable-modem router motorola. I want to connect them to spread the internet to my community through the AP. I can't find the FAT AP V200R003C00 software to upgrade from FIT AP V200R002C00.
Thank you Tesfama
