Hi,
I have an AP5130DN access point with firmware currently installed (V200R006C10SPCa00).
I would like to activate the web interface that is present in the manual. How can I solve this problem? the http, wlan entry is not in the list of useful commands (?) ..
I uploaded the 12mb version as firmware and not the 28mb FAT version. What changes between the two versions? What does the word FAT mean?
Thank you all for the help you give me.
P.S.
I've been going crazy for some time near these access points

Hello,

FIT mode - means you need a wireless controller to manage the AP, usually this type of AP deployment is used when there are multiple APs in your WLAN that needs to work together to establish a wireless network. The controller manages all APs in the same time.
FAT mode - means your AP can work as standalone, a controller is not needed, similarly with a home router that is providing AP in your house for example.

So if you would like to manage only one AP without a controller you should make sure you use the FAT version.

I would guide you through the next steps required to open web management for your AP.
1. Check whether AP is running the FAT version. Use display version command in CLI to check this:
<Huawei> display version
Huawei Versatile Routing Platform Software
VRP (R) software, Version 5.130 (AP5030DN FAT V200R006C10)

2. If you don't run the FAT version, certainly you will need to make a change from FIT to FAT version.
First find the latest V2R6 software version - here there is the link for AP5030DN-FAT-V200R006C10SPCa00.
http://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/software/22151900-SW1000203137
Then after you download the software, please follow the guide to change from FIT to FAT. See chapter 6:

3. If you have the FAT version already running or you managed to change from FIT to FAT, you will need to open Web management access for AP. Please refer to the guide:

Note that it's not required to upload a web.zip file in AP flash to start the web management, that part is optional.

Cheers!

------FAT is mean, the AP can work without AC, the FIT is not, only can work with AC.

The difference between the firmware version size is because the fat version is more heavy than FIT.

Hi, another thing that you should note is that if you want to use the web-gui ( http/https ) you will have to change the version from FIT to FAT.

You will have to have a ftp server with the FAT AP software version on it, after that you will only have to use one command from the ap, but before you issue the command please make sure you have connectivity between AP and FTP server.

The default IP address of an AP is 169.254.1.1    / you can use your pc as ftp server and have ip address 168.254.1.2 as your pc interface ip and ftp server.

Example:
ap-mode-switch ftp FatAP5X30XN_V200R007C20SPC100.bin 192.168.10.11 admin admin123

FatAP5X30XN_V200R007C20SPC100.bin - Firmware file name.
192.168.10.11 - ftp server ip
admin - ftp username
admin123 - ftp password

Below a complete guide on how to achieve this: ( chapter 6.3 Switching a Fit AP to a Fat AP )
