Run the display ap id ap-id command on the SPU to view the AP status (State field).
刪 If the AP status is fault, restart the AP manually. If the AP cannot enter the Normal state after it is reboot, restart the SPU. If the AP still cannot enter the Normal state, go to step 2.
刪 If the AP status is type-not-match, change the AP type to the actual AP type and reset the AP. If the AP is still in Fault state, go to step 2.
2. Check whether the AP is faulty.
Check whether the power indicators and network cable indicators are normal.
刪 If the indicators are abnormal, check whether the power cables and network cables are correctly connected. If the cables are correctly connected, go to step 8.
刪 If the indicators are normal, go to step 3.
3. Check whether the AP has an IP address.
Run the display ip pool {interface interface-name | name ip-pool-name } used command on the DHCP server to check whether the AP has an IP address.
刪 If the AP does not have an IP address, configure a DHCP server when a Layer 2 network exists between AP and AC or configure DHCP Option 43 and DHCP server when a Layer 3 network exists between AP and AC.
刪 If the AP has an IP address, go to step 4.
4. Check whether the network between AP and AC is normal.
Run the ping command to check whether the SPU and AP can ping each other.
刪 If they cannot ping each other or one end cannot ping another end, modify the VLAN configurations.
刪 If they can ping each other, go to step 5.
5. Check whether the AP is authenticated by the AC.
Run the display ap-auth-mode command on the SPU to view the current authentication mode.
刪 If the authentication mode is MAC authentication or SN authentication, run the display unauthorized-ap record command to check whether any AP fails to be authenticated. If so, run the ap-confirm command to add the AP to the whitelist.
刪 If the authentication mode is none authentication or the AP has been added to the whitelist, go to step 6.
6. Check whether the number of APs connected to the AC reaches the upper limit.
a. If no license is loaded, the SPU supports a maximum of eight APs. Run the display ap all command to view the number of APs in Normal state.
刪 If the number of connected APs reaches the upper limit, apply and load an AP license.
刪 If the number of connected APs does not reach the upper limit, go to step 7.
b. If the license has been loaded, run the display license resource usage command to check whether the number of connected APs reaches the upper limit allowed by the license.
刪 If the number of connected APs reaches the upper limit, apply and load an AP license.
刪 If the number of connected APs does not reach the upper limit, go to step 7.
Check whether the MAC address or SN of the AP conflicts with those on another AP.
Run the display ap id ap-id command to view the MAC addresses and SNs of APs.
刪 If the MAC addresses or SNs conflict, change the settings of the AP.
刪 If the MAC addresses or SNs do not conflict, go to step 8.
