Hi,


As i have reviewed several articles on power consumption model, by using number of sector, traffic load etc. whereas none of them address  or highligh the impact of antenna gain. Therefore i am asking that, why isn't the antenna gain factored into the power models for base stations? If it is true, then how we consider in exsiting model.

That depends on the detailed configuration.


In different implementation scenarios, the antenna might have different transmission power and receiving power, which will affect the final power consumption.

Hi,

Antenna gain cannot be solely seen as a standalone parameter, as the antenna pattern, receive sensitivity (of the other side), transmit power (of the other side), aimed link performance must also be taken into account.

Also... please also be aware that antenna gain may be frequency dependent... so, in order to put that in a model - one has to model also the operating frequency.
