Hello, everyone!
This time, I have collected the causes and solutions of the U2000 service process failed to start. I hope you will like them.
During the startup of the U2000, if some functions are not enabled, you may find that some processes of the U2000 server fail to be started on the System Monitor client.

The possible causes are as follows:
1. The IP address of the server is incorrectly changed. As a result, the IP address configuration of some processes is not updated.
2. The password of the sa user of the database was not changed in the correct way. Or the password of the sa user of the database was incorrect, which caused some processes to fail to start.
3. Before using the root account to start the process and then exit abnormally.
4. The processes that are not started are incorrectly configured. For example, the processes related to the NBI must be configured first.
5. The license for the corresponding function is not applied for or not loaded.
6. The port is occupied.
7. In the Windows operating system, other database software such as the Sybase client is installed on the U2000 server, which causes an error when the process calls the database.
8. The server memory is too small to meet the U2000 running requirements. As a result, some processes cannot be started.
9. Antivirus software is installed on the U2000 server, and some U2000 files are deleted. As a result, U2000 processes cannot be started.
Handling Procedure:
1. On the System Monitor client, manually start the processes that are not started. Check whether the processes fail to be started and whether related information is displayed.
2. Restart the U2000 server and check the process status.
3. Check whether the server IP address has been changed. Please make sure that you have modified the IP address according to the operation steps of the manual. If the IP address is not modified according to the correct method, restore the previous configuration and modify the IP address again.
4. Please check if you have manually changed the password of the database sa user before. If so, use the network management system maintenance tool to change the password of the database sa user again.
5. Ensure that you have applied for and loaded the license of the corresponding function.
6. If a process that is not started has been started by the root user and exits abnormally, start the process as the root user and exit normally. Restart the operating system.
7. If processes such as the CORBA NBI fail to be started, check the NBI configuration or reconfigure the NBI.
8. Check whether the port used by the process is occupied. If yes, release the port.
9. If the server has been powered off or the database has been restored, you are advised to initialize the database again, restore the data, and restart the U2000 server.
10. If the U2000 server runs the Windows operating system and other database software such as the Sybase client is installed on the U2000 server, uninstall the Sybase client software.
11. It is recommended that you do not install software irrelevant to the U2000 on the U2000 server. If the problem persists, uninstall the software irrelevant to the U2000 and restart the U2000 server.
12. Check whether the server hardware configuration meets the configuration requirements.
13. If it is the problem of installing antivirus software, please uninstall the antivirus software and reinstall the network management.
14. If the problem persists, contact Huawei engineers.
The most friendly suggestion
Strictly follow the procedure in the product documentation to change the IP address. Otherwise, the U2000 may be faulty.
It is recommended that you start or stop U2000 processes as the nmsuser user.
That's all. Welcome everyone to share your maintenance experience, thank you!
