An IPC Is Pinged, But the Ping Fails Immediately

This fault may occur on all IPC models.

Symptom

After an IPC is powered on, it can be pinged, but the ping fails immediately.

Possible Causes

• The IPC voltage is unstable.
• There is a network storm.

Solution

1. Ensure that the IPC works in stable voltage.
2. Capture data packets sent by the IPC and analyze the captured data packets.
   • If the IPC continuously sends broadcast packets to 0.0.0.0, upgrade the IPC to the latest version.
     NOTE:

     There might be network storms when the IPC connects to the optical network unit (ONU) of some models. If this occurs, upgrade the IPC to the latest version.

   • If the IPC sends packets normally, go to 3.
3. Reset the IPC and ping the IPC again after powering it on.
4. Check whether the fault is rectified.

   If yes, the procedure ends. If no, contact your service provider for assistance.
