ALS with the ALS Auxiliary Condition network scenarios

ALS is stand for Automatic Laser Shutdown. It shutdowns the TX power at the Client Side. We have four auxiliary conditions to trigger the ALS. Below is the description and the network scenarios:

1. FW_DEFECT: If a fault occurs on the client-side receiver of the upstream board or the WDM-side receiver of the local board, the laser on the client-side transmitter of the local   board must be shut down

2. BW_WDM_DEFECT: If a fault occurs on the WDM-side receiver of the local board, the laser on the client-side transmitter of the upstream board must be shut down.

3. BW_CLIENT_R_LOS: If a fault occurs on the client-side receiver of the local board, the laser on the client-side transmitter of the local board must be shut down.

4. FWD_OPUk_CSF: If an OPUk_CSF alarm is detected on the client-side port of the local board, the laser on the client-side transmitter of the local board must be shut down.

Good question. The LPT is similar with the ALS with the ALS Auxiliary Condition: FW_DEFECT. ALS with the ALS Auxiliary Condition network scenarios-2966949-1

If the MSTP+ supports the ALS, yes it can be used. Should the ALS has no the ALS Auxiliary Condition, the ALS will be the scenario "ALS enabled with the ALS Auxiliary Condition: BW_WDM_DEFECT". If you found there is the LPT features, that will be the scenario "ALS enabled with the ALS Auxiliary Condition: FW_DEFECT"
