hi Dear members ,
I was thinking , about a topic it is
What may the Transmission Engineer need in the Capacity of aggregation layer and Access layer ?
The OSN 1800 Series can give you all what you need starting from E1 to 200G , Here I want to make overview on some of the OSN-1800 Types :-
1- OSN 1800 I Enhanced
I find this equipment amazing only 1U that can serve in many scenarios, the Main board of it (A1UXCL) can work as ( System control, cross-connect, clock board or Universal Line board , SDH Line , Ethernet Line board or Tributary board )
In this small NE you can support (E1 , FE, GE , STM1,STM4,STM16,STM64,10GE,OTU1,OTU2,OTU2e)

2- OSN 1800 II E
This enhanced version is suitable for aggregation , It is a bit bigger than OSN 1800I with 8 slots .
The main board supports several scenarios as the customer wants , the TNZ1UXCL/TNZ2UXCL Board can work as (System control, cross-connect, and timing board or Universal line board (SDH+packet services) or TDM board or Packet Board ).
the OptiX OSN 1800 II Enhanced chassis provides a maximum of 160G OTN capacity, 160G packet capacity, and 50G SDH higher-order and 20G SDH lower-order capacities .
Table 1 Application scenarios of the UXCL board | |||
Application Scenario | Logical Board on the NMS | Board Type | Basic Function |
Scenario 1 | · Z1UXCL (TNZ1UXCL cross-connect board)/Z2UXCL (TNZ2UXCL cross-connect board) · Z1SCC (system control board) · Z1STG (timing board) | System control, cross-connect, and timing board | Provides the functions of a system control, cross-connect, timing board, and implements cross-connections of ODUk (k = 0, 1, 2, 2e, flex)/VC-4/VC-3/VC-12 services and switching of packet services. |
Scenario 2 | Z1PSNS2 | Universal line board (SDH+packet services) | Supports hybrid transmission of 10 Gbit/s SDH and packet signals. |
Scenario 3 | Z1SL64 | TDM board | Receives/transmits 1 x STM-64 optical signal. |

Scenario 5 | Z1SLN | TDM board | Receives/transmits 1 x STM-1/STM-4/STM-16 optical signal. |
3- OSN 1800 II PRO
This new member of the series has the same slot numbers as the OSN 1800II E but with extra high capacity can get to ( OTN cross-connect capacity 700 Gbit/s, packet switching capacity 400 Gbit/s, and SDH cross-connect capacity 40 Gbit/s higher-order, and 5 Gbit/s lower-order.
4- OSN 1800 TP
This also a new member it goes with the world trend toward the optical , It supports 8 slots , 7 of them are ready to house optical boards only . to work as the fast solution for WDM & ROADM.
5- OSN 1800 V
Is the aggregation most suitable solution for high Projects , the high number of slots (14 service slots) with the large capacity and the compatibility of TDM , OTN , Packet ,DWDM & POTN makes it the best solution for companies search for migration from old to new technologies in one step .
The capacity get to 700 Gbit/s OTN capacity, 700 Gbit/s packet capacity, 280 Gbit/s SDH higher-order and 40 Gbit/s SDH lower-order capacities.
This is not the whole series family for more information visit (support.huawei.com)
