Fault Symptom

A delay occurs when a PC pings a base station.

Cause Analysis

The delay occurs on the base station. Therefore, you need to further locate the fault on the base station.

Troubleshooting Procedure

Step 1     Configure the mirroring function on the switch to obtain ping packets for analysis. The following figure shows the obtained packets.

The Echo Request packet arrives at the interface GE1/0/1 of the switch at 10:57:05.780428000 and is sent out from the interface GE1/0/2 at 10:57:05.780430000. That is, the forwarding delay is very low when the Echo Request packet passes through the switch. In contrast, it takes about 4 seconds to return the Echo Reply packet from the base station to the switch. Therefore, the delay occurs on the base station. You are advised to check the base station for troubleshooting.
