A:Yes.

To operate the S1720GW, S1720GWR, and S1720X on the CLI, you need to perform the following operations: Purchase the WEB management to full management Electronic RTU License, activate the license on the ESDP system, download the license to the local computer, upload and activate the license on the device through the web system, restart the device, and then configure the Telnet or STelnet service.

To operate the S1720GW-E, S1720GWR-E, and S1720X-E on the CLI, you can simply configure the Telnet or STelnet service on the web system without the need to purchase or activate a license.

The following describes how to activate a license file and configure the STelnet service on the S1720GW. For details, see Example for Configuring the STelnet Service to Enable Switch Management on the CLI in the Web-based Configuration Guide.

1.         Log in to the web system, and choose Maintenance > System Maintenance > License. Load a license file from your local computer in the license management page. Click Activate to restart the switch and activate the license file. The switch will restart after you confirm license activiation, so it is recommended that you select Save the configuration and Reboot.

2.         Choose Maintenance > System Maintenance > System and click the Service Management tab. Set the STelnet function to ON in the service management page. Click Apply and click OK in the displayed dialog box to enable the STelnet service.

3.         Choose Maintenance > System Maintenance > Administrator. Click Create in the administrator information page. The page for creating an administrator account is displayed. Set the administrator information, then Click OK.

       User name: admin

       Password: admin123

       Confirm password: admin123

       Access level: Management user

       Access type: SSH

4.         Open PuTTY, enter the switch's IP address to which you want to connect, and select the SSH protocol. Click Open. In the displayed page, enter the user name and password and press Enter. After the preceding operations are performed, you have logged in to the device through STelnet. Then you can operate the device on the CLI.
