Fault Category Alarm Displaying Frequent Remote Replication Interruption
Keywords Remote replication
[Symptom]
The alarm indicates that the remote replication is frequently interrupted.
[Troubleshooting Roadmap]
1.Enable the remote replication log MmlBatch 4900 "log set lvl 6" and search for the corresponding REP.ERR.

2. The remote replication is interrupted because the remote replication path is too long. In the product documentation, the maximum length of the remote replication directory path is 3400.
[Cause]
1. The file path is created by the customer's third-party software.
2. The file path is too long. As a result, the remote replication is interrupted. However, because the restoration mode is set to automatic in the pair properties, the remote replication attempts to be restored every 15 minutes. However, each restoration fails. As a result, alarms are frequently generated.
[Solution]
1. Ultra-long paths created by third-party software:
1.1 Limit the length of the created directory path, create a new pair for remote replication, and delete the last replicated directory.
2. The directory created in the replication root directory is too long.
2.1 Emergency solution: Copy an ultra-long trail to a short trail, delete the parent trail, and start synchronization again. (To be verified in the lab.)
