Hi, sir!

I have three questions.

1. How do I handle the REM_SF and client_SF alarms.

2. How do I handle the REMOTE_FAULT alarm.

3. What are the differences between the three alarms?

Can you tell me?

Thank you!

Hello, friend!

REM_SF and client_sf are the same alarm.

In the early stage, some devices are called client_sf, but the NMS names them REM_SF.

It indicates a remote signal failure. That is, when the signal received on the client-side of the OTU board at the opposite station fails (for example, the R_LOS or R_LOF alarm is reported), the OTU board at the local station inserts the alarm signal. The client-side of the OTU board at the local station detects the alarm and reports the alarm.

REMOTE_FALT: remote defect alarm. The remote defect alarm indicates that the router connected to the client-side of the WDM board receives the REMOTE_FALT alarm.

Thanks!

Hello,
REM_SF indicates the remote signal failure alarm. This alarm is generated by the client side of the local OTU board when the client side of the remote OTU board fails to receive signals (for example, when R_LOS and R_LOF alarms are generated).
REMOTE_FAULT alarm indicates a fault at the remote end. Usually is in pair with LOCAL_FAULT alarm in the peer station.
