This post will tell you one issue for After services are cut over to the OSN 3500, ECC is unavailable.
Problem description:
A project consists of 12 155M chains and 7 622M rings, which need 26 ECC paths. To move the project, 12 chains and 6 rings are cut over, but the last ring network is failed to be cut over, as ECC paths on both ends are unavailable.
Handling procedure:
1. SCC and line board fault?
2. NE version limitation?
3. Incorrect ECC setting?
Root cause:
NA.
Solution:
1. The NE software version is 5.21.12.42, supporting 40 ECC paths. Issue "cm-set-dccpara:40,0,0" to set 40 3-byte ECC paths.
2. Issue "linecm-get-bdinfo"to query board information. The optical port where ECC paths are unavailable has been allocated with ECC paths and the port is OK.
3. Issue "linecm-get-eccroute" to query ECC route. The returned route table shows routes to adjacent NE, but the SCC number is 255. In addition, you fail to log in to the NE. Replace the board on both ends of the NE, but the symptom persists.
4. Issue "linecm-get-ecccrc" to query ECC CRC. CRC is closed. Then issue "linecm-set-ecccrc:open;" to open ECC CRC. Here, all adjacent NEs are disabled. Next issue "cm-set-ecccrc:close" to close ECC CRC, all optical boards in the rings are available, but ECC paths on two chains are unavailable.
5. Disable and then enable unavailable ECC paths on two chains. But ECC paths are still unavailable and the symptom persists.
6. As the whole network is large, ECC paths of a ring network must be disabled. Here, unavailable ECC paths on two chains are enabled.
