Recently I have a project which is providing internet Wifi service for service apartments running on GPON as a backbone. This is my first time to deal with Huawei products in GPON area. Hence, I will need your advice on the choice of products whether are they compatible and practical in this example scenario:
Router ---> Core Switch ---> Optical Line Terminal ---> Fiber PLC ---> Fiber Patch Panel ---> Optical Network Terminal
PoE ---> Wireless Access Point
My Choice of Product for the GPON backbone:
a. OLT (Huawei SmartAX EA5800 X2)
b. ONT (EG8240P)
1. Hence, may I know that based on the network connection and my choice of product, is there any recommendations or advice from you guys? any compability issues?
2. And also, for the Fiber PLC, is it necessary for me to use splitter from Huawei's ODN series?
3. Since my OLT connection to the fiber patch panel is in different rooms side by side, the uplink connection from OLT to fiber patch panel will be around 5 meters long, will there be any significant impacts if I prolong the uplink of the PLC by using fiber adapter (SC/UPC)?
4. Lastly, all my fiber connections are using SC/UPC for the device connections, no issues right? Because I'm not sure in what scenarios SC/APC will be needed.
