Hello Friends,
Today I would like to share some advantages and disadvantages of Digital or IP Security Cameras.
DIGITAL OR IP SECURITY CAMERAS:
Ditgital or an IP camera is a type of digital security camera that receives and sends video footage via an IP network. They are similar to analog in apperance and commonly used for surveillance as well but unlike analog CCTV cameras, IP or Digital cameras do not require a local recording device but they requires a a local network.

Advantages of Digital or IP Security Camera:
Image Quality: Digital security cameras provide much better image quality than analogue security cameras, with many cameras capable of recording and transmitting high-definition video. Digital cameras are also more likely to include digital zoom features which may reach distances of over 100 feet.
Area Covered: A single digital camera can cover an area that would take three or even four analogue cameras to cover. As a result, you may need fewer cameras and be able to keep a greater region under security observation.
Fewer Cables Needed: Instead of separately connecting each camera with electricity and then cabling each camera to the DVR, digital systems can link several cameras to a switch and then connect all of those cameras to the NVR with a single wire.
Positioning or Port Limitations: You are no longer limited by the distance between cameras and the video recorder because cameras only need to be linked to your LAN network to connect to your NVR. You also eliminate that limitation because the NVR is software based and does not have ports.
Power over Ethernet (PoE): PoE switches allow your signal lines to also provide power to the cameras, removing the need for those extra cords.
Wireless Capability: Digital security camera systems excel at communicating via a wireless network. They are not subject to the same types of interference as their analogue equivalents, allowing you to view a live video from further away if desired.
Encryption: Encryption is built into many digital security cameras, ensuring that your data is safe from start to finish.
Disadvantages of Digital or IP Security Cameras:
Setup Complications: If you don't already have a network and switches in place, your CCTV installation will be more expensive and time-consuming, despite the fact that you'll require fewer wires overall.
Higher Initial Cost: Compared to their analogue predecessors, cameras and equipment (apart from wires) tend to be more expensive on an individual basis
High Bandwidth Requirements: Compared to analogue security camera systems, IP security camera systems often demand a lot more bandwidth. Even with compression, you're looking at approximately 720Kbps with the increased resolution and frame rate, and that's before considering the latest cameras with megapixel resolution. As a result your costs may rise as a result.
High Bandwidth Requirements: Because higher resolution and frame rates result in larger files, you'll need a lot more hard-drive space to store them.
Hope you enjoyed this, I will be sharing more topics soon. You can share feedback and suggestions in comments or leave a private message.
Thanks!
