Dear friend!
In a large-scale optical transmission network, or some special services have high requirements on the network delay. If the internal clock of the transmission equipment cannot meet the requirements, an external clock source is required to ensure clock synchronization on the entire network.
1. The advantage of an external clock is that it can provide a clock with higher precision that is not generated by the device.
2. After clock signals are transmitted through multiple NEs, frequency deviation and drift may occur. As a result, the clock signals transmitted to the downstream NEs deteriorate. The high temperature precision clock needs to be introduced again.
How to introduce an external clock:
1. Connect the cable carrying clock signals to the clock input port of the device.
2. In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose from the Function Tree.

3. Click Query to query the existing clock source.
4. Click Create. In the Add Clock Source dialog box, select a new clock source and click OK.
Thank you!
