Adding a Domain User

Background

Before installing the database cluster on VP1 (for the installation details, see Installing a Database Cluster on VP1), you must create a user on which the database service relies. This user must meet the following requirements:

• The user account has the Domain Admins permission.
• The user password never expires.

For the user plan, see the domain user plan for the database service in Table 1.

Procedure

1. Log in to Domain1 as Administrator.
2. Choose Start > Administrative Tools > Active Directory Administrative Center.

   The Active Directory Administrative Center window is displayed.

3. In the navigation tree on the left, choose smc20(local) > Users.

   The user list is displayed, as shown in Figure 1.

4. In the Users area on the right, choose New > User.

   The Create User dialog box is displayed.

5. Set the parameters under Account.
   • In Full name, enter adminsql.
   • In User SamAccount, enter adminsql.
   • In Password and Confirm password, enter Admin.sqlser654321.
   • Under Password options, select Other password options and Password never expires.

   Figure 2 shows a configuration example.

6. Under Member Of, perform the following operations:
   1. Click Add.

      The Select Groups dialog box is displayed.

   2. In Enter the object names to select, enter DomainAdmins and click OK.

7. Click OK.
